A residential complex means more than a number of buildings with the same design. It means a future community that shares a common set of values. Some of the values that guided us in building Aqua City are related to nature, wellbeing and a healthy lifestyle.
Besides the proximity to Lake Morii (whose promenade is already used for cycling and jogging) and the fruition of the existence of the spring with natural water within the complex (each kitchen will benefit from both local water and alkaline water from the spring), the residents of the complex will be able to enjoy several types of green areas, spread over an area of about 6,600 square meters.
A picnic in the park in the residential neighborhood, watching a play in the area of the event scene, a long walk in the alleys of the park, 30 minutes at the playground - these are some of the possibilities to spend free time in the green space of the residential neighborhood Aqua City.
The creation of this reality began in the first part of December, when we planted 100 trees and shrubs (of about 14 species) on an area of 3,400 square meters. In the future, this area will be divided into: park, alleys, play area, event scene.
Why did I decide to plant trees in December?
For two reasons: the first is related to the completion of the block structure, so that the green space once arranged, is not affected by the works; the second is related to the planting period. As long as the soil is not frozen and the temperatures are about 5-7 degrees, the months of November and December are very good for planting. It is very important that the transplant is done during the vegetative rest, so that the tree adapts to the chemistry of the new soil and, eventually, to make new roots in addition to the existing ones.
What species were planted?
- Plain deciduous trees , such as hornbeam ( Carpinus betullus ), "silver" lime ( Tilia hybrida argentea ), red oak ( Quercus rubra ), English oak ( Quercus robur ), silver maple ( Acer saccharinum ), maple ( Acer platanoides ), birch ( Betula pendula 'youngii'),
- Fruit trees such as red plum ( Prunus pisardi nigra ), mulberry ( Morus platanifolia )
- Shrubs and ornamental trees such as hibiscus ( Hibiscus syriacus ), silver fir ( Abies concolor glauca ), "pyramidal" hornbeam ( Carpinus betullus piramidalis )
- Exotic trees such as Ginkgo biloba, gum tree ( Liquidambar styraciflua)
The above species were chosen so as to meet several criteria: the decorative one, the one of the resistance to urban pollution, the one of the fast growth. Last but not least, the final visual aspect of the green areas and how they will be used were followed.
The Aqua City project is being built in several phases. The first block has a deadline of completion at the end of July 2021 and the first tenants will move at the end of December 2021. Phase II of the project will start in 2021 and will be completed in 2022, and phase III will start in 2022 and will completed in 2023.
One year and 4 months after planting, in the spring of 2022, the park and promenade area will already be accessible to Aqua City residents.
