Episode 1: About Sector 6

The second largest sector of Bucharest, Sector 6 has a population of over 360,000 inhabitants and an area of almost 3700 ha. Crossed by the river Dambovita, the area has a rich history, which is linked to the names of famous personalities such as Dr. Carol Davila (hero of the war for Independence and founder of Romanian medical education), Dinicu Golescu (the enlightened scholar who built the Belvedere mansion here). or "Tower House") or Tudor Vladimirescu (who set up camp in these places in 1821, thus giving the name of Camp Road).

Sector 6 has one of the highest densities in terms of educational infrastructure, with 26 kindergartens, 27 middle schools and 14 theoretical high schools and colleges. At the same time, Sector 6 hosts some of the oldest and most established educational and research institutions, such as the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, the National Academy of Physical Education and Sports, the Polytechnic Institute, the Pasteur Institute, the Botanical Institute and the Emil Carafolli Institute.
